Neighborhood Watch (NW) is not patrolling, it is not spying, and it is not being an agent of the police. It is a program where a group of people living in the same area become educated on how to make their neighborhood safer by communicating and working together in conjunction with local law enforcement to reduce crime and improve quality of life.
Here in Lake Christopher Nicole Thomas is our coordinator with Neighborhood Watch. Our community uses the online Facebook Community to communicate, as well as nextdoor.com.
Nextdoor.com is an important part of our Neighborhood Watch program. The Virginia Beach Police Department uses it to send out informational announcements as well as alerts of crime. Other Community Services will use it for alerts/information as well. It also provides us the opportunity to communicate with our neighbors, ask questions about needed services (like dog walking, handyman repairs, kitchen remodeling, etc.), post about lost or found animals, etc. Just go online to Nextdoor.com to join for Lake Christopher.
If you have a question or concern regarding Neighborhood Watch, please contact Nicole Thomas directly or use the contact form below.
Note: You may need to try the "Captcha" a few times. It is case sensitive and it is sometimes difficult to tell the case of the code letters.
